Nate Frederickson Design, LLC subscribes to Adobe Connect web conferencing system. Adobe Connect provides the ability to conduct web based conferencing, with integrated phone-based conference calling. The beauty of this tool is that no software is required to join a conference, just an internet browser, so it is simple to invite new users into a meeting. The system greatly enhances the capability to collaborate effectively with clients and project teams in other locations, and is being utilized on an almost daily basis.

Nate Frederickson Design, LLC signs agreement with Kvichak Marine Industries, Inc. to provide technical consulting and management services to support a concept design contract in place with Hornblower Cruises and Events. The vessel will be an aluminum catamaran passenger vessel initially serving Alcatraz Island in San Francisco Bay. Vessel design is by Solar Sailor and Grahame Parker Designs, both of New South Wales, Australia. Solar Sailor will design and provide a diesel-electric hybrid marine propulsion system and hydraulically actuated solar sail (combining benefits of aerodynamic thrust and solar/electric input to the hybrid drive), complete with PLC management of the hybrid drive/solar sail system. Grahame Parker Designs will provide the overall vessel design required to integrate the hybrid drive system and satisfy structural, speed, passenger-carrying and aesthetic requirements. Nate Frederickson will represent Kvichak as engineering project lead.
The initial concept for this project was the BayTri , which incorporated twin conventional main diesel propulsors, and an auxiliary electrical propulsion system supporting low speed operation and maneuvering.
It is exciting to be involved in this innovative project, which aims to achieve significant improvements in fuel efficiency and exhaust emissions by utilizing advanced propulsion system and control design as well as the basic environmental benefits available from wind and solar power.
